Social Flash Mob 4 Good In DC - CNN iReport

A flash mob can be associated to a public gathering where people aim to perform an action for a cause. On Friday, June 4th, a global flash mob rippled through cities in a social effort to bring awareness to local social service agencies. Imagine that: a concept born on a social media site, driven through updates on a group site from a leading email application in the cloud, perpetuated by communication on another social media site for events and driven by every day people with personal desire to help. Social Mob For Good is one of many examples of the viral nature of social media specifically when used for social good.

Washington DC played its part in the flash mob with a few supporters breaking the ranks of the usual happy hour or tweetup( Twitter meetup). In its place supporters gathered at Dupont Circle Park with umbrellas, t-shirts with awareness messages and Rihanna's song "Umbrella" by iPhone used with a megaphone. Organizers Elizabeth Glomb and Nakeva Corothers managed to get the song rolling and supporters dancing and twirling the umbrellas! Which DC social service agencies were the center of awareness?
